Small Steps, Big Faith

It's finally Friday. We made it to the weekend. I don't know about y'all, but this has been a longggg week. Here in Kentucky, it's felt like we're living inside a snow globe. I haven't left the house in a week, and I feel like I'm going insane. Mind you, it's just me and two dogs... Hunter's left for work, but I'm not joking the dogs and I look at one another like... ok what's next? I'm grateful I work from home, but still, a girl's gotta leave the house. Happy to report, last night I finally made it out, and you better believe it was for the Lord's chicken. Good ol' Chick-fil-A for dinner.

Any who, we talk a lot about seasons, and I promise to get off the season soap box, BUT have you ever been in a season in life where nothing was falling apart, but nothing was necessarily happening either? No crisis. No breakthrough. Just days that felt repetitive. Instead, God kept asking you to do the small things. Pray when you feel distracted. Show up even when you feel unseen. Be faithful in routines that feel ordinary and unimportant. Sometimes that kind of faith is felt harder than trusting God in a storm. At least storms feel purposeful. Stillness can feel like stagnation. But faith isn't built in leaps, it's built in steps and repetition. Let me ask you this, do you have an Apple watch, or any device that counts your steps? I have a Garmin watch, and I am obsessed with hitting my daily step goal. If I'm short, I'll go for a walk around the neighborhood, or squeeze in another run on the treadmill just to close the gap. Those steps don't feel impressive in the moment. They're small, repetititve. Easy to overlook, BUT they add up. And if I stop taking them altogether, progress stops too. Faith works the same way.

And guess what? Being here is already a step of faith. Reading this devotion. Choosing to be part of The SHE Club. Making space, for God to meet you right where you are. I know it may feel insignificant. Like it's not making a difference. But if I've learned one thing in my walk with faith, it's this... the smallest steps often carry the most impact. It's the small consistent choices... the prayers you whisper when you're tired, the obedience no one sees, the routines that feel boring—those are the steps that build something lasting. They soften your hurt, and steady your heart. The small steps begin to change you from the inside out. And even if you don't notice it yet, I promise, others do. This community itself is proof of that. In just one month of starting The SHE Club, nearly 500 women (from high school age to let's call them women with wisdom 😉) have chosen to show up here—quietly, consistently, and faithfully. Holy cow. And the fact that this space has already reached women across the country, including our very first reader from Texas (Texas y'all), still amazes me.

Scripture reminds us to not overlook moments like this. Zechariah 4:10 tells us, "do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin." God isn't waiting for you to be perfect or for big gestures. He rejoices in beginnings. In consistency, and in faith that keeps showing up. And if you’re finding encouragement here, I’d love for you to help shape where this community goes next. Take a moment to fill out this quick anonymous survey and tell us what you want to hear more of. Your voice matters here, and this space is being built with you in mind.

While I have your attention, one more thing. We're giving away a FREE Hosanna Revival NLT Notetaking Bible. You're already entered to win, just by being part of The SHE Club, but you get additional entries by doing the following:

SHE Walks in Faith

Sometimes faith looks like showing up again today. Choosing trust again today. Letting God work in the ordinary moments. Keep taking the small steps—God is doing more with them than you can see.

🩷 Prayer

God, thank you for meeting me in the small steps. Help me stay faithful. Use these quiet moments to shape my heart and deepen my faith. I choose obedience today, one step at a time. Amen.
