SHE Finds Courage in Him

Life can stir up anxiety—new challenges, tough conversations, or goals that feel just out of reach. It's tempting to shrink back or second-guess ourselves, but God calls us to something greater—to walk in courage, not fear.
A recent chapter in our lives reminded me that courage often shows up in the hardest moments, and when fear is the loudest. Nearly two years ago, my husband and I were told some unfortunate news... we have a 1% chance of conceiving naturally. Let's be honest, I think what the doctor wanted to say was zero, but by saying 1% I think he thought it would give us a little hope, because you and I know, miracles do happen. Fast forward, after nearly five years of trying, we found ourselves in a statistic no one wants to be in—infertility. In summer 2024, we went through IVF, and sadly it did not work (the IVF journey is a story in itself for another day), we made it all the way to the end of the two-week wait, but our embryo didn't stick. I share this not for you to feel sorry for us, but because had we not approached it with courage and not fear, I'm not sure we ever would have tried IVF. Sure, there was fear and so much unknown... the emotional toll, the physical toll, the financial strain, the list goes on. BUT looking back, we can say, "we did it, we gave it a try." Will we do it again? That's the million-dollar question, and I'm not sure we have the answer—until God does.
I tell you this, because in Joshua 9:1, God reminds us, "Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid of discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Courage doesn't mean we're never afraid... y'all I was terrified going through IVF (we had no idea what we were doing, so much that we laugh about it now - one day I'm signing off on thousands of dollars of medicine to be left at our front door, to becoming an at-home chemist, to stabbing myself in the stomach with a needle), it means we move forward even when we are afraid, trusting that God walks beside us.
This week, when you face something that makes you nervous or uncertain, pause and remember who goes before you. Courage isn't built in comfort, it's born in trust. Invite God into those uneasy moment. Ask Him to fill you with strength where fear wants to take hold. When we step forward in faith, even trembling, we show others what it means to live with holy boldness. Our courage becomes contagious—it inspires others to face their own giants, knowing they don't stand alone.
SHE Walks in Faith
Share your courage—encourage someone else who might be facing fear or uncertainty.
🩷 Prayer
Lord, thank you for walking me through every challenge. When fear whispers, remind me that You are greater. Give me courage to speak, act, and lead boldly in Your name. Let my confidence be rooted in Your presence and not my own strength. Help me move forward in faith, trusting that wherever I go, You go with me. Amen.
