You're Allowed to Rest

Have you ever been so tired that even the things you normally love feel like too much? Not exhausted from doing nothing—but worn down from doing everything. From showing up. From being strong. From carrying responsibility after responsibility without ever fully setting it down.
Soul exhaustion doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like irritability. Or numbness. Or quietly thinking, I just need a break from everything. It’s the kind of tiredness that sleep alone doesn’t fix.
Psalm 23:2–3 says, “He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.” God doesn’t just offer rest for our bodies—He offers renewal for our souls. And notice who does the leading. Rest begins when we stop pushing ourselves forward and allow God to guide us to stillness.
Soul rest requires trust. Trust that the world won’t fall apart if we pause. Trust that God is still working even when we’re not. Trust that productivity does not determine our worth. When we slow down long enough to sit with God, He gently reminds us that we are more than what we accomplish. We are deeply loved—right where we are.
Rest doesn’t mean disengaging from life; it means learning how to return to God in the middle of it. It means creating space for Him to restore what life has drained. If your soul feels stretched thin today, hear this: God is not asking for more effort—He’s inviting you to rest.
SHE Walks in Faith
Choose one small way to slow down today—step outside, go for a walk, put your phone down, have an everything shower (IYKYK) or sit quietly with God for a few moments.
🩷 Prayer
God, my soul feels weary, and I need Your renewal. Help me trust You enough to rest. Teach me to slow down, breathe deeply, and receive the peace only You can give. Restore what I’ve poured out and lead me beside Your still waters. Amen.
